Resident PC Hempsey has been out on patrol in the Renishaw area! A White Transit vehicle was sighted on Carrwood Road. Initial checks on the vehicle revealed the that there was no insurance policy in place. PC Hempsey spoke with the driver regarding this. The male was later stop and searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs act, due to information from the community, alongside a strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle.
A small packet of suspected cocaine was located in the vicinity of the vehicle. The driver also failed a roadside drug test which indicated that he was over the legal limit for cocaine and cannabis use.
The driver was arrested, and released under investigation whilst PC Hempsey awaits for blood and drug results.
